German Launch of the Sustainable Real Estate Investment Framework

The UNEP Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) is organising the German launch of the Sustainable Real Estate Investment. Implementing the Paris Climate Agreement: An Action Framework.

Five of the world’s largest investor networks (CERES-INCR, IIGCC, IGCC, PRI and UNEP FI), the RICS and the Global Alliance on Buildings have come together to collectively create a concise, actionable framework for Real Estate investors to help them make sense of existing ESG guidance to support and accelerate the integration of ESG and climate risks and opportunities into investment decisions. This event will provide you with a comprehensive overview of the guidance with a discussion on how it can be practically applied.

There is overwhelming evidence showing that climate change, energy security and resource scarcity pose clear investment risks, as well as opportunities, for real estate investments. How, then, can the private sector engage to implement the agreement finalised at COP21 in Paris to mitigate these risks?

By 2020, it is expected that more than USD300 billion will be spent every year retrofitting buildings to improve their energy efficiency. This kind of investment requires a robust business and investment case, along with a significant increase in investment above existing levels to achieve the set targets.

Who should attend

  • Asset Owners and Trustees and their Investment Advisors and Valuation professionals
